Used to hang out at Naked City Brewing all the time and Halcyon looked packed during the Greenwood car show so thought we would give it a try. The hazy ipa was mediocre but drinkable. The food was awful. Cold, soggy fries. A fried tofu sandwich with literally a half dozen cabbage shreds (no miso slaw, no pickled onions)--not to mention it was just a slab of tofu with no seasoning, no prep--and veggie dumplings that tasted like yard waste. The place was also almost empty and looked trashed. Plenty of better brewpubs to hang out in Seattle. Too bad as I wanted to like this place.

Great beers and great food, what more can you ask for? The Kiwi Fisher pilsner was very crisp with a hint of fruit and perfectly balanced. I like my sour beers to be super tart but the Blossom Hunter fruited sour was also good, fruity with a hint of vanilla, not too sweet not too sour. The Spicy Togarashi Fries were perfectly crispy and actually had a nice kick without being overly spicy or anything. Beef kimchi mandu was nothing too special for me, I was expecting juicy dumplings and didn't realize they were gonna be deep fried (but I did notice afterwards that it was listed under "From the fryer" haha!). The Umami Kaffir wings were AMAZING!!! I need to come back to try the rest of the food menu because everything else also sounds so good. Good beers need good food to pair with and this is Asian-fusion done right!

Delicious tofu banh mi rice bowl, great beers, and a formidable pork katsu sandwich. And the people are cool!
