Modern Japanese Cuisine & Setsuko Pastry (TAKE OUT only)

This place is takeout only, so I ordered ahead of time, but they weren't ready yet when I arrived after the estimated time. There were only 2 people working during the Sunday dinner rush. Usually chirashi bowls at Japanese restaurants in the area last me more than one meal or can be shared with one other person, but their chirashi is so skimpy that I was still hungry after. There were 5 different types of fish, but the cuts were so thin and small for $29. Kiriba is about the same price for chirashi, but comes with more. Unfortunately, Kiriba isn't open on Sundays, so I had to settle for Modern Japanese.

The first order was matcha cheesecake and tiramisu. They are so excellent. Not too sweet I love it. So my second time was strawberry tiramisu. This is the best! I love it. From the person who is gluten free, I will definitely come back for great food, dessert and welcoming service!

I have been wanting to try this takeout place and it exceeded my expectations! 🍣 sushi here are so well prepared; fresh but they have umami flavors! It’s best to order ahead, and it was worth the extra step. This will be favorite place for pickups.
