I am so grateful I brought my dress to Seattle Wedding Dress Specialists before my wedding. Will was so kind and helpful and took excellent care of my dress. My dress arrived from the designer incredibly wrinkled and it needed a full pressing. Will went above and beyond by catching and spot cleaning some blemishes, and he got my dress in excellent shape for my wedding. Seattle Wedding Dress Specialists are the BEST for vintage dress restoration and reconstruction. I had the honor of wearing my grandmothers 70 year old dress from the 1950s for my wedding. However, she never properly preserved or stored it so it had a big ugly stain in the front and the lace was extremely fragile from rotting over the years. Will took on the project despite the difficulties with the fabric, and let me know upfront that he probably wouldn’t be able to get the stain all the way out due to how fragile the lace was. He was right, but he did a great job. He made the stain much lighter and barely noticeable. But then came the problem of the fit of the dress. It was too tight in the arms and shoulders and made me feel totally restricted. Given how fragile the fabric was, I was scared to alter the dress in any way. But, Devon took on the project like a pro. He took off the sleeves, added a keyhole in the back, lengthened the straps, and took in the bust. After all of the alterations I was able to feel so comfortable and beautiful in a dress the originally made me feel claustrophobic and frumpy. I loved how we kept the dress as close to the original as possible while making it fit me better. Overall the whole team handled the dress with so much care and made me feel so confident that it was in the right hands. I felt like they honored the dress just as much as I did, and genuinely enjoyed the stories and history behind the vintage dress. Plus Will and Devon are just lovely people who are great communicators and immediately put you at ease when you walk through the door. I genuinely looked forward to my a fitting appointments throughout the process. Bottom line: these guys know what they are doing! Check out the before and after photos below!

I worked with Kathleen to get my wedding dress altered, and loved working with her! We removed a train, did a full hem, added shoulder straps, and adjusted the bodice of my dress. She was so considerate of what I wanted, responsive to my ideas, and her work was immaculate! I absolutely love how my dress turned out (I got so many compliments!) and really enjoyed my experience with Kathleen - she is a great source of wisdom - her experience and knowledge really shine!
